Welcome to Garretson Elementary School!

​Hello and welcome to my classroom! My name is Jay Swatek, and I am one of the fifth grade teachers at Garretson Elementary School. I am also the Head Wrestling Coach and Assistant Track Coach for grades 7 - 12. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science from South Dakota State University and then completed my teacher certification through Dakota Wesleyan University. I am currently working on my Master's Degree from the University of Sioux Falls in School Leadership. I joined the Garretson School District during the 2003-2004 school year. My wife, Jill, is a Registered Nurse with Sanford Health Systems. Our children, Tayson and Bryn, attend the Garretson School.  Our family loves following the Colorado Rockies baseball team and tries to attend games during the summer months.
